data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe Are-Able crew, who donated the lights, started to help this term, making coffee for Chatty Caf\u00e9 on Tuesday mornings.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThey said why don\u2019t they do a Bunnings fundraiser and buy Christmas lights.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Last week the centre got given 60 sets of lights, and they have almost all been claimed by Long Gully residents.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe\u2019re specifically targeting Long Gully residents,\u201d Ms Parry said. \u201cSo, we\u2019re asking people to show some sort of ID of where they live and then we give them a set of lights and they can go home and decorate.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The solar Christmas lights effort is just one of several LGNC has going during the festive season.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThere\u2019s been a whole lot of activity here for Christmas,\u201d Ms Parry said. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a number of volunteers make snowflakes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe\u2019ve given 250 of them to Shine Bright Maiden Gully Early Years Hub to hang up for Christmas, and then we\u2019ve got more to decorate here.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe\u2019ve also been making Christmas cards for Letters of Hope, which is an organisation in Queensland that actually sends out cards to people who are fighting mental health and wellbeing issues.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cAll sorts of things to just be able to support the community more and show people that they\u2019re actually cared, for because Christmas can be tough for a lot of people.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Are-Able are a NDIS-funded non-profit which helps data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe beautiful thing is that it\u2019s beneficial to us, but it\u2019s beneficial to Are-Able as well,\u201d said Ms Parry.<\/span><span
