BENDIGO Thunder tackles a red-hot Castlemaine in this Sunday’s third round of the Champions IGA-backed senior women’s footy competition.<\/p>\n
The Mick McInnes-coached Thunder takes a one-one record into the match against the reigning champions who have won by margins of 117 and 110 points in the opening two rounds.<\/p>\n
Thunder has home-ground advantage at Weeroona Oval in Bendigo’s Napier Street for the clash which starts at 1pm.<\/p>\n
The Thunder line-up struck back from defeat to win last Sunday’s match at North Bendigo by 45 points.<\/p>\n
This round it’s the battle of the Bulldogs from Golden Square and North Bendigo at the Wade Street ground in Golden Square from 1pm.<\/p>\n
The Nathan Manuel-coached Golden Square marked its first hit-out of ’24 by winning last Friday night’s match under Eaglehawk’s lights at Canterbury Park by 58 points.<\/p>\n
A talented team in blue and gold includes Isabella Ayre, Molly Forde, Claire Picone and captain Liz Watkins.<\/p>\n
After a win and bye, White Hills is back in action. The Phil Murley-coached Demons take on another league newcomer, Sandhurst at Bendigo’s Ewing Park at 1pm.<\/p>\n
White Hills won its first match in the CVFL seniors at Marong by 101 points.<\/p>\n
The Andrew Saladino-coached Sandhurst has played Castlemaine and Marong in the opening two rounds.<\/p>\n
Woorinen will aim to bounce back from a big loss when it hosts Marong.<\/p>\n
The Katelyn Hazlett-coached Tigers were outgunned by Castlemaine in the rematch of the ’23 grand finalists on the Magpies’ ground at Camp Reserve.<\/p>\n
