BENDIGO region anglers have been invited to the latest OzFish ‘Unlimited Fish Talk’ event on Thursday, May 9. The event, which aims to raise awareness about restoration and sustanability of our waterways, will be the second as part of the Native Fish Habitat Roadshow which is travelling through northern Victoria.<\/p>\n

Speakers will include angling identity Colby Lesko, who will discuss challenges facing our rivers, recent success stories, and opportunities for individuals to contribute to restoration initiatives.<\/p>\n

The event will be held from 6.30pm at the Quality Lakeside Hotel in Napier Street, Bendigo and will be free to attend, with catering provided.<\/p>\n

But registration is essential at ozfish.org.au\/event\/bendigo-fish-talks-vic-may-2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to OzFish Murray-Darling Basin program manager Braeden Lampard, anglers see first-hand the issues facing native fish and their involvement is invaluable to restoration efforts.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“These community events are often the starting point to kickstart fish habitat restoration,” Mr Lampard said. “There are complexities to restoration and bringing a waterway back to good health, but when people know more about the challenges, solutions are within reach.<\/p>\n

“On the night, we’ll update local anglers on how they can get involved, which is greatly needed following the devestation caused by the flooding in recent years.”<\/p>\n

OzFish is a fishing conservation charity and is delivering the roadshow program with the support of the Victorian Fisheries Authority.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
