{"id":96616,"date":"2024-05-31T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=96616"},"modified":"2024-05-29T19:44:27","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T09:44:27","slug":"outdoor-leisure-show-a-one-stop-shop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/outdoor-leisure-show-a-one-stop-shop\/","title":{"rendered":"Outdoor leisure show a one-stop-shop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IF you&#8217;re planning a family caravan or camping holiday, there&#8217;s only one place you need to be this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Prince of Wales Showgrounds transforms into an outdoors wonderland when the annual Bendigo Caravan, Camping and Leisure Roadshow gets under way.<\/p>\n<p>From 9am to 4pm today through to Sunday, everything a prospective camper will need will be on show; vehicles, caravans, motor homes, accessories, equipment and more.<\/p>\n<p>And according to show director Jeff Leech, the event is basically a one-stop-shop for outdoors holidays.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s over 500 caravans on display,&#8221; Mr Leech said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the event&#8217;s major advantage was that it gathered virtually everything together in the one place, whereas going to a dealership meant being restricted to only one or several brands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But you can look at all the major brands, all the styles here,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They can walk around the whole place and see all the major brands in one place, that&#8217;s the main thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2024\/05\/Roadshow05_25137.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Options: All major brands can be inspected in the one place at the Bendigo Caravan, Camping and Leisure Roadshow. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The range of vehicles and vans will include family vans, off-road vans, hybrids (an advancement on original camper trailers), teardrop appliances that can be towed behind a small car, motorhomes, and camper vans.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And we&#8217;ve got heaps and heaps of accessories,&#8221; Mr Leech said. &#8220;We&#8217;ve got a whole supermarket of accessories for caravan, camping and four-wheel driving.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A new feature at this year&#8217;s roadshow is Your Tow Weight, which throughout each day will offer free talks and advice on how best to pack a caravan and distribute the load to ensure it tows better.<\/p>\n<p>Free children&#8217;s entertainment will include pizza-making, arts and crafts and a petting zoo, while entertainer Rick Evans will appear at the food court.<\/p>\n<p>The roadshow is indoors and outdoors, at the two exhibition halls and outside on the main oval.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is $18 adults, $15 concessions, and free for accompanied children under 16.
