FAMILY-owned independent brewery East Bendigo Brewing Company is up for sale, with the whole kit and kaboodle offered at a price of two-hundred-and-seventy-five thousand dollars.<\/p>\n

Formerly known as Brookes Beer, the brewery was established 11 years ago by Doug Brooke and Melissa Church.<\/p>\n

“We’ve put a price on what we want to sell it for, and I think it represents fantastic value,” said Mr Brooke. “You wouldn’t get a brewery established in a new location for that amount.”<\/p>\n

Items included in the sale make up pretty much everything you’d possibly need to brew and package beer, including a 2500-litre electric brewhouse, five 2500-litre fermentation vessels and one 3500-litre fermentation vessel, four 120-litre stainless tanks, and a 27-can-per-minute filler\/seamer.<\/p>\n

There’s also a labelling machine, Renault delivery van, keg washer, various water treatment and filtration equipment, electric pallet jack, access to existing customer lists and recipes, and a 30-day handover.<\/p>\n

“If someone wanted to take it on as a working brewery, we’d give them a month to just familiarise themselves with how it all works and what the equipment is,” Mr Brooke said.<\/p>\n

“And if they want to brew our recipes, we’ll help them get across that and introduce them to suppliers and all the bits and pieces.”<\/p>\n

Mr Brooke said since the announcement of the sale, he and Ms Church have been “absolutely touched” by the “genuine and heartfelt regret that we’re packing up.”<\/p>\n

“Our customers love what we’re doing. People know and understand the brands and appreciate it,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been able to find a way to make beers that our local community has embraced. I think that’s shown that local communities have been really welcoming of something that’s new.”<\/p>\n
