For those considering a career in hairdressing, Ms McIlrath has some simple advice.<\/p>\n
“Have a crack,” she said. “If it’s something you want to get into and you’re passionate about it, then reach out, build your experience and grow your network.<\/p>\n
“Give everything a try; you never know what doors might open when you put yourself out there.”<\/p>\n
Bendigo TAFE acting chief executive officer Michelle Johnston said Ms McIlrath had made a “remarkable” contribution to the local industry and the TAFE institution.<\/p>\n
“Her enthusiasm and dedication to her craft is exceptional and it has a positive impact on her students and their training outcomes,” Ms Johnston said.<\/p>\n
“Trailblazers like Lauren are exactly what we need to guide and develop the skills of the future workforce.”<\/p>\n
