GOLDEN Square residents are encouraged to have their say at a community meet-up at the Golden Square Hotel on Wednesday 24 July as part of a campaign overseen by the Golden Square Action Group and Make a Change Australia.<\/p>\n
The campaign – Activating Golden Square – invites local stakeholders to voice their ideas on the future of the historic suburb.<\/p>\n
The action group’s Mark Pirie said he’s “thrilled” to see the initiative come alive.<\/p>\n
“It’s a chance to celebrate what makes Golden Square special and to collaborate on new ideas that can enhance our community,” he said.<\/p>\n
“I hope the gathering will spark innovative projects and strengthen the bonds between residents and local organisations.”<\/p>\n
Karen Corr, founder of Make a Change, which supports and engages individuals and communities to create positive change, said this is a “wonderful opportunity” for residents of Golden Square to come together, share their stories, and envision a brighter future for the suburb.<\/p>\n
“By participating, you contribute to creating a more connected, vibrant, and resilient community. Your voice matters, and we want to hear from as many people as possible,” she said.<\/p>\n
Activating Golden Square is funded by the City of Greater Bendigo and its long-term goals include improving amenities and services, fostering collaboration, and creating a more inclusive and resilient community.<\/p>\n
The project also aims to gauge interest in the establishment of a Golden Square festival.<\/p>\n
The get-together takes place on Wednesday 24 July between 5.30pm and 7pm at the Golden Square Hotel in High Street.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
