“So, we wanted to make a space for people to bring their own digital projects to the gallery and work alongside each other,” she said. “Often, interesting connections and ideas are formed as people work and chat about their projects surrounded by the exhibition.<\/p>\n
“Creating within a gallery space breaks down the boundary between who is represented in an exhibition and who is not. Often, galleries are exhibiting artists that are practicing professionally and engaging with worlds of contemporary art and culture.<\/p>\n
“However, we want our galleries to also be a space for making for people that may not consider themselves ‘professional’ artists.”<\/p>\n
Dr Shelton said the session is suitable for anyone who is able to work on their project autonomously.<\/p>\n
“Participants might be art students, professional creatives, novice artists wanting to try something new, someone who has never made art before but is interested. Anyone who is interested is welcome,” she said.<\/p>\n
