{"id":98584,"date":"2024-09-03T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-02T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=98584"},"modified":"2024-09-03T11:25:31","modified_gmt":"2024-09-03T01:25:31","slug":"miniature-horse-gala-for-bendigo-showgrounds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/living\/miniature-horse-gala-for-bendigo-showgrounds\/","title":{"rendered":"Miniature horse gala for showgrounds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GET ready for a cuteness overload when the Australian Miniature Horse Society brings its Spring Kickoff Feature Show to the Bendigo Showgrounds next month.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than just an exhibition of diminutive equines, the event includes performance challenges such as lungline, riderless showjumping, high stepper, T-bounce and an obstacle course.<\/p>\n<p>Show coordinator Deb Adcock said this aspect of the event will give people an insight into the uniqueness of the small breeds.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s more to them than leading them around and looking pretty,&#8221; she said. &#8220;They&#8217;re little horses with big attitudes and they&#8217;re very versatile.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A lot of people haven&#8217;t seen them and think that miniature horses are just Shetland ponies, and when they actually have a look they realise they&#8217;re a little bit more than that. There&#8217;s as much involved with them as there is a big horse.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Adcock said the day is a great opportunity for people considering adopting a miniature horse to have a closer look.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If people are thinking of including a miniature horse in their family, it&#8217;s a great way to see what it&#8217;s all about,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;ll be several of our members there who are breeders and they&#8217;re always all happy to talk to people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re a friendly bunch, always up for a chat.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Australian Miniature Horse Society Spring Kickoff Feature Show takes place at the Bendigo Showgrounds on Sunday 15 September from 9am.
