INTERACTIVE children’s comedy show Signor Baffo is coming to Bendigo for a performance at The Engine Room on 6 October.<\/p>\n

Actor\/comedian Joshua Burton plays the character who creates chaos in the kitchen, in what has been described as Monty Python for kids.<\/p>\n

The show made its Australian debut at this year’s Adelaide Fringe, where it was awarded Best Kids and Family Show, and Interactive Theatre International is now taking it on its first regional tour from 3 to 13 October.<\/p>\n

All the answers to the most important questions of the day are revealed in Baffo’s kitchen, like what’s the best way to mix meatballs with spaghetti, how do you make a chicken lay an egg, and how exactly does a sausage roll?<\/p>\n

Burton’s role as Signor Baffo follows his success with the Australian tour of Roald Dahl and the Imagination Seekers.<\/p>\n

“I remember watching comedy shows as a child,” Burton said. “Now I get to do the same and inspire the next generation.”<\/p>\n

The premise is that when chef Signor Figaro’s restaurant is left in the hands of the well-meaning but bumbling Signor Baffo, mayhem results.<\/p>\n

Baffo dreams of one day running the restaurant and, after greeting diners \u2013 the audience \u2013 decides to try on Figaro’s chef uniform and takes them on a tour of the kitchen.<\/p>\n

The show has toured regularly in the UK since 2013 and is regarded as ideal for children aged from three to eight.<\/p>\n

Burton has created and performed original sketch comedy shows with his brother Tom for several years and has featured on television (Neighbours), in movies (Son of a Gun) and on stage (Burton Brothers: Vegas Residency).<\/p>\n

The show’s producer, Jared Harford, said bringing Signor Baffo to Australia had been “a joyous journey”.<\/p>\n

“After the show’s overwhelming reception in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, we’re so excited to be coming out to regional Australia for families to experience this culinary comedy adventure,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It’s a recipe for laughter and learning that you won’t want to miss.”<\/p>\n
