{"id":99694,"date":"2024-10-29T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=99694"},"modified":"2024-10-23T22:41:08","modified_gmt":"2024-10-23T11:41:08","slug":"beatles-act-to-light-up-bowls-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/living\/beatles-act-to-light-up-bowls-club\/","title":{"rendered":"Beatles act to light up Bowls Club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EAGLEHAWK Bowling Club is gearing up for a Sunday afternoon like no other when it hosts the remarkable Beatles Legacy tribute act &#8211; a Melbourne-based six-piece supergroup that promises to faithfully recreate the music, energy, and charisma of the iconic Fab Four.<\/p>\n<p>During the two-hour show the group will not only cover the band&#8217;s impressive catalogue of classics but also dip into Paul, John, George and Ringo&#8217;s solo careers, as well as perform numbers from Wings and the Travelling Wilburys.<\/p>\n<p>Beatles Legacy drummer and founder Paul Monger said as far as the afternoon&#8217;s setlist goes, &#8220;it&#8217;s a no-brainer &#8211; it&#8217;s just hit after hit after hit&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We open up with &#8216;Saw Her Standing There&#8217;, &#8216;She Loves You&#8217;, &#8216;All My Loving&#8217;, &#8216;Hard Day&#8217;s Night&#8217;, &#8216;Hold Your Hand&#8217; and &#8216;Help&#8217;,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The set transgresses into &#8216;Here Comes the Sun&#8217;, &#8216;Octopus&#8217;s Garden&#8217;, &#8216;Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da&#8217;, &#8216;Lady Madonna&#8217;,&#8221; and then the last part we do a tribute to several bands that are inspired by the Beatles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The second set kicks in with &#8216;Magical Mystery Tour&#8217;, &#8216;Drive My Car&#8217;, &#8216;Sergeant Pepper&#8217;s&#8217;, followed by a George Harrison medley and then a Wings medley.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To finish off we basically bang it out with all the rockers &#8211; &#8216;Get Back&#8217;, &#8216;USSR&#8217;, &#8216;Let It Be&#8217;, &#8216;Live And Let Die&#8217; and &#8216;Revolution&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There won&#8217;t be a song that we play on the day that people won&#8217;t know.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t miss the Beatles Legacy at Eaglehawk Bowling Club in Simpsons Road on Sunday 27 October from 2pm.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets can be purchased on the <a href=\"http:\/\/trybooking.com\/events\/1270166\/sessions\/4814367\/sections\">Trybooking website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EAGLEHAWK Bowling Club is gearing up for a Sunday afternoon like no other when it hosts the remarkable Beatles Legacy tribute act &#8211; a Melbourne-based six-piece supergroup that promises to faithfully recreate the music, energy, and charisma of the iconic Fab Four.
