THE gold rush era town of Inglewood, 35 kilometres northwest of Bendigo, will come to a standstill on Sunday 3 November for the Inglewood Alive Festival – which since COVID has emerged as one of regional Victoria’s biggest and most popular free annual street parties.<\/p>\n

Something for literally everyone will be on offer including a town-wide garage sale from 8am to midday, a woodchop competition, live music and kids entertainment, displays and collectables, classic cars and bikes on show, a vintage tractor display and arts and crafts.<\/p>\n

Food trucks and market stalls will also be in place on the closed main street for the day.<\/p>\n

Ann-Maree Davis from the Inglewood Alive Festival Working Group explained the event had its beginnings in 2012 in response to significant flooding that occurred in the area the previous year. “One of the aims was to reinvigorate the town. Lots of the traders had suffered significant impacts with vehicle and pedestrian visitation restricted for weeks and weeks,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It returned last year for the first time since COVID and was an absolute huge success. We believe around 4,000 people attended throughout the day, which was absolutely huge.”<\/p>\n

“The majority of community groups and businesses involved are either local to Inglewood or regional and people travel from far and wide because the program is so varied. It attracts people of all ages and from all walks of life.”<\/p>\n

“It’s a great day out with lots to see and do that represents good value particularly for families.”<\/p>\n

The Inglewood Alive Festival takes place on Sunday 3 November from 10am until 3pm.<\/p>\n
