Current occupation and background:
Deputy Byron Shire mayor. On council for eight years. High school teacher and former radio producer at the ABC.
How long in the Byron community?
I came here 30 years ago, brought up my two children here.
Community involvement?
Presented on Bay FM, worked on many festivals and events, supported many social and environmental groups. I played soccer and coached children, and was in the SLSC. Recognised with the Ministers Award for Women in Local Government in 2023.
Guiding values or principles?
My commitment to the shire is deeply rooted in environmental protection, social justice, addressing our housing crisis, and supporting our youth and creative industries.
Are you or have you associated with any political party or cause?
Running as a Greens candidate because these values align closely with my own.
Campaign budget?
Small donations from supporters and fundraising.
Top three issues facing your area?
The housing crisis. Environmental protection. The need to champion our vibrant arts and creative industries.
