Current occupation and background:

A writer and consultant in community arts, cultural heritage and sustainable eco-cultural tourism.

How long in the Byron community?

In 1997 I moved with my family to the Byron Shire from Central Australia.

Community involvement in the community?

I’ve raised my three kids in Byron Shire and supported their school communities at Shearwater Primary, Mullumbimby and Byron High Schools. I volunteered in the 2022 flood recovery, amd was captain of the Byron YES Campaign.

Guiding values or principles?

Respect for all people irrespective of class, education, race or religion and our responsibility as citizens to care for each other and our environment.

Are you or have you been associated with any political party or cause?

Labor is committed to positive action with the community in the Byron Shire.

Top three issues facing your area?

Affordable housing: Too many single mums, pensioners and veterans are homeless Environment and climate change: our goal is to become a 100 per cent renewable energy Shire. Arts and festivals: To be a council that says yes!
