THIS summer, Byron Bay’s social calendar gets a sea-breeze twist — and it’s not just the spritzes that are sparkling.
Say hello to MV Jasmine: an 18-metre, purpose-built beauty setting sail as the Northern Rivers’ first floating bar and dining experience.
Equal parts luxe and laid-back, MV Jasmine is the creation of Lennox Head locals Dean Fuchs and Helen Caruana — the duo behind Out of the Blue Adventures — and she’s here to make your summer salty, scenic and a little indulgent.
Cocktails, coastlines and curated vibes Departing from Brunswick Heads Marina, MV Jasmine drifts through Cape Byron’s pristine marine park, serving up more than picture-perfect views.
Onboard, two stylish levels await: a Mediterranean-inspired dining space, a high-end cocktail bar (shaken, not stirred, naturally), and an open-air upper deck made for lounging, dancing or pretending you’re in a European music video.
Whether it’s a long lunch, a sunset cruise or a private charter for a Christmas bash, hens night or milestone moment, Jasmine brings the kind of atmosphere that turns a day out into a story worth retelling.
The onboard menu is in good hands thanks to local favourites, Maria’s, bringing their signature Mediterranean flair to every lunch and sunset cruise.
For private events, the catering line-up expands to include Terra Catering, with rotating guest chefs and venues joining the mix.
Region on rotation: A local love affair
This isn’t just a boat with cocktails — it’s a floating stage for the Northern Rivers’ best.
MV Jasmine’s Region on Rotation summer series partners with local legends including The Hut, Light Years, Azteca, Mullum Conti, Mare Nostrum, Luna Wine Store and FLO Records.
Each cruise is a unique collaboration — new menus, fresh sounds and local stories, all while drifting through one of the most beautiful pockets of the east coast.
Co-owner Helen Caruana says the idea was to bring something entirely new to Byron — “a celebration of all things local.”
“We wanted to create something Byron hasn’t seen before — a floating bar and dining experience where every detail is thoughtfully curated,” she says.
“Whether it’s a sun-soaked long lunch with friends or a golden-hour cocktail, each moment aboard MV Jasmine is a celebration of the present, and the people within it.”
Expect curated music, top-shelf drinks and a little magic with every cruise.
You might find yourself sipping a jasmine gin fizz while grooving to live vinyl sets as the sun dips over the ocean. It’s that kind of vibe.
Launch weekend: November 20–23
MV Jasmine officially drops anchor — metaphorically — on Thursday, November 20, with Friday already sold out and limited spots for Saturday and Sunday.
Consider this your gentle nudge to gather the group chat and get in early.
