FLOURISH Gallery celebrates fairy tales, folklore and storytelling in a three-week immersive exhibition opening today.

Combining visual arts, poetry, theatre, games, dance, music and workshops, the program will include conversations with artists and authors, and storytelling for both children and adults.

Thursday, October 10 will feature storytelling, family activities, dress-ups and photos on the vintage Papermoon from 11am to 3pm.

Author Sarah Armstrong will deliver a free creative writing workshop from 11.30am. Only 16 places are available, and bookings are essential.

On Saturday, October 12, the Magic Theatre Curiosities and Wonders is a family carnivale fun day presenting four ticketed children’s shows from 2pm to 4pm.

In addition, a free circus play space, dress-ups, children’s storytelling, magical creature workshops, face painting and music round out a family day for youngsters of all ages.

The Land of Make Believe will also host the Strumpet Salon travelling theatre, which is relaunching after sustaining significant flood damage in 2022.

The gallery’s opening night starts at 5pm today with artworks, installations, wearable art, decor and design by Talulah Rae, Belinda Royal, Penelope Sienna, Leah Lelash and Dallas Rae.

The festival runs from October 4–25. For program information, visit themagictheatre.com.au/landofmakebelieve
