THE Burringbar Memorial Reserve and Masterson Park Draft Concept Plan has been approved after its public exhibition late last year.

The plan was adopted at the last Tweed Shire council meeting, along with a commitment to work with the community to integrate the temporary Cycling Without Age container into the landscape.

It also approved exploring options to enhance the Rail Trail parking facilities in and around Burringbar.

The Burringbar Memorial Reserve and Masterson Park plan aims to preserve the village’s heritage, culture and character while embracing the community’s needs and values.

Guided and developed in concert with the community, the draft plan reflects the area’s desire for a new nature play space, additional seating, picnic tables and an accessible barbecue.

It also includes native landscaping, a car park upgrade and a community gathering place for music events.

The findings of the community survey and the 95 submissions received during the public exhibition period are available to view in the shire’s Community Engagement Report.
