Byron yoga studio to host free community day
BYRON Yoga Studio will host a free community yoga day on Sunday, November 17, with classes from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm at its Byron Street location.
The event invites both new and experienced yogis to explore wellness and mindfulness together.
Byron Yoga Centre founder John Ogilvie said the goal of the day is to create an inclusive space.
“Our goal is to create a space where people can explore yoga, meet our wonderful teachers, and enjoy a day of wellness together,” Ogilvie said.
“We’re thrilled to open our doors and share this experience with the community. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or a regular practitioner, we welcome you with open arms.”
A variety of classes will be available throughout the day, including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Meditation, led by experienced instructors.
Attendees are encouraged to reserve their spots via the MindBody app, with the first 30 bookings receiving goodie bags filled with products from local businesses.
In addition to free classes, visitors can enjoy refreshments like Yum Bars and chai, participate in door prize giveaways from brands including Brookfarm and Cape Byron Kayaks, and engage with the instructors.
Byron Yoga Studio will also be collecting donations for Fletcher St Cottage, a local charity supporting people experiencing homelessness in Byron Bay.
“This is an opportunity for us to come together and support not just yoga, but our community as a whole,” Ogilvie said.
The event is free of charge, and attendees are encouraged to donate to Fletcher St Cottage.
