From creature comfort to home harmony
CREATURE Yoga co-founder Tahl Rinksy has rebranded the Byron Bay studio as HAUM Space.
The US-born yogi said the name is a play on words, mixing the word “home” with the yoga mantra “om”.
“It came from my own personal journey of looking at my values,” she said.
“The main value we stand behind is ‘come as you are’, which is about feeling at home in yourself.”
Located in Banksia Dr in the arts and industry estate, the studio offers a range of classes, including vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga.
Rinsky also hosts retreats overseas, including one in Mexico in June.
“We have classes for every level of student,” she said.
“We welcome beginners and we also offer workshops with international teachers such as Patrick Beach, who is coming from the States in February.”
Rinsky grew up in New York City and moved to Australia in 2003 after coming to visit her brother here.
She lived in Melbourne before following a yoga teacher she met there, Dena Kingsberg, to Byron Bay.
She co-founded Creature Yoga with Bess Prescott in 2015.
Prescott is now offering online classes, as well as in-person teacher training workshops in destinations including Switzerland, Italy and Germany.
