TWEED Shire Council is seeking experienced professionals to serve as council-appointed members of the Northern Regional Planning Panel (NRPP).

The NRPP determines regionally significant development applications and rezoning proposals and provides expert planning advice to ensure balanced and strategic decision-making in the Tweed Shire.

Tweed Shire Council planning and regulation director Denise Galle said the contributions of experienced professionals were highly valued for the region’s future development.

“This is a unique chance for industry professionals to have a direct impact on planning decisions that shape the future of Tweed,” Galle said.

The Council will appoint four paid positions for a three-year term. Two positions will be permanent members, and the others will be alternate members.

At least one member must have planning, architecture, heritage, the environment, urban design, land economics, traffic and transport, law, engineering, or tourism expertise.

Property developers and real estate agents are not eligible to be members. “We are looking for individuals with senior-level experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative and professional manner,” Galle said.

Applications close on Friday, May 2. Visit yoursaytweed.com.au/nrpp-eoi for more.
