CHILDREN across the Northern Rivers are learning to tackle anxiety and build resilience through the Little Legends Summit, hosted by East Coast Care Connect.

The program features activities such as breathing exercises, ice baths, and yoga designed to help manage stress while fostering independence and social skills in a supportive environment. Participants also enjoy soccer, touch footy, and other outdoor activities, with future events to include surfing and rock climbing.

“We wanted to give back to the community,” event organiser Ben Sattler said. “This is designed to meet a growing need to help equip kids with the tools they need in their daily lives.”

“It’s all around resilience, and we’re seeing first-hand how some of them who have been a few times are building on these skills.”

Facilitators include breath work and cold exposure expert Ben Berry and personal trainer Johnny Gannon, who guide participants through sessions aimed at empowering both body and mind.

This year, East Coast Care Connect is expanding its programs across the region, including schools, hospitals, and junior sporting clubs.

The Lennox Head summit will run on January 14 and 21 at Ross Lane, while Tweed Heads events are scheduled at the PCYC on January 16 and 23.
