LISMORE speedway is gearing up for one of its final events of the season after hosting a major night of memorial races and monster truck action.
The New South Wales AMCA national sedan title will be contested at the track on Saturday, May 3.
It will attract a quality field off the back of the monster truck and V8 Dirt Modified Bruce Maxwell Classic.
The monster trucks are one of the most popular attractions at the showground, having run multiple shows this season.
The recent stunt show was a highlight, before Australian champion Kevin Britten claimed the Bruce Maxwell Classic.
The race honoured former competitor and Lismore track co-announcer Bruce Maxwell who lost his life in an overseas road accident in 2023.
Britten, driving his American company Troyer chassis car, set the fastest time in the 40-lap main and had a strong grip on the race before a late charge sealed the win.

“It’s wonderful to win this race in honour of Bruce,” Britten said.
“He was certainly a colourful character and likeable man. It was a tough race and I had to work hard for the win.”
Other feature race winners in April were Matt Hardy (AMCA), Matthew Layton (production sedan), Brodie King (RSA sedan), Tyler Beer (SSA top stars junior sedan) and Patrick Moore (SSA – new stars junior sedan).
The AMCA Nationals will be supported this weekend by V8 dirt modifieds, wingless sprints, junior sedans, RSA sedans and the Mothers Mayhem Ladies Race (RSA sedans).
The final event of the season will be held over two nights on June 7-8 with the Chilly Nationals.
