CR JERI HALL has been re-elected as Lismore’s deputy mayor for the next twelve months following the first council meeting since the September elections.

The meeting, held on Tuesday night, saw councillors select a deputy mayor from within their ranks and appoint delegates to various committees.

Voters returned Cr Steve Krieg as mayor, while Independent councillors Jeri Hall, Andrew Bing, Andrew Gordon, Big Rob, and Electra Jensen, along with Greens candidate Adam Guise, retained their seats.

The council welcomed newcomers Labor candidates Cr Harper Dalton-Earls and Cr Jasmine Knight-Smith, as well as Greens candidate Cr Virginia Waters.

Independent candidate Cr Gianpiero Battista, who previously served on the council, also returns.

Cr Hall won the role of deputy mayor over Cr Knight-Smith, with a vote of seven to four.

She will hold the position until September 2025, continuing her service as deputy from the previous term.

The council also named delegates to several advisory groups and committees, including the Disability Inclusion Advisory Group and the Aboriginal Advisory Group.

Cr Gordon and Cr Krieg were selected as delegates for the Rous County Council, while Cr Rob will chair the Flood Risk Management Committee.

Among other appointments, Cr Jensen will represent Lismore on Arts Northern Rivers, with Cr Waters as her alternate.

Cr Krieg will chair the Australia Day Committee, joined by Crs Hall, Rob, and Dalton-Earls.
