New spa opens in Lismore
A NEW spa featuring a traditional Finnish sauna, hot tub and cold plunge pool has opened in the heart of Lismore.
Founded by metalsmith Oliver Fity and his wife Jo, BATHE is located on Carrington Street and was created as a way to give back to the community they’ve called home for the past five years.
“Especially following the floods, we felt Lismore needed something new — a positive, social space where friends could come together, relax and reconnect,” Mr Fity said.
The couple designed BATHE to be a simple yet restorative experience. Departing from the sleek and polished look of many modern spas, they chose to reflect Lismore’s authentic character in every detail.

The space features exposed bricks sourced from the historic brickworks in nearby Bexhill, and a striking hardwood truss spans the roofline.
Mr Fity, who began his career as a jeweller before moving into architectural metalwork, said his background strongly influenced the spa’s design. “That blend of craftsmanship and design definitely influenced the aesthetic choices we made for BATHE,” he said.
“Its location fundamentally shaped both the aesthetic and functional design of the space. In Lismore, the reality of flooding isn’t a matter of if, but when, so it was important to create a space that not only acknowledged this risk but embraced it.”

The couple is in talks with several therapists to offer massage services at the spa.
“We’re also planning to dedicate specific evenings to include women-only and queer nights,” he said. “We really want to make BATHE a space for everyone.”
BATHE will soon launch its Founding Membership program, offering the first 100 members unlimited access to its Finnish sauna, hot tub and cold plunge pool for $40 per week.
