A FREE online program for all Northern Rivers businesses and non-profit organisations will run from Monday, May 5, to mid-July.
Delivered by Resilient Ready in collaboration with the NSW Reconstruction Authority, Business Beyond Disasters is a simple program designed to help business owners plan for disasters.
The program also helps to build essential business continuity capabilities, find ways to collaborate to overcome future challenges and build long-term resilience.
CEO and founder of Resilient Ready Renae Hanvin said it was a valuable resource.
“Taking five minutes a day to get your business or not-for-profit thriving beyond disasters will help you in both the good times and challenging times,” Hanvin said.
Owners can select the program options to suit their business from Retail, Professional Services and Education, Agribusiness and Aqua business, Tourism, Healthcare and Community Services, and Construction, Trades and Manufacturing,
The resource provides a personalised resilience toolkit tailored to specific industries, including 10 x five-minute e-learning modules.
Modules include topics such as Operating Through Disasters, Insurance Choices, Evacuation Triggers and Competitor Collaborations.
Weekly online ‘check-ins’ aim to build connections with others experiencing similar challenges.
Executive director of NORPA Libby Lincoln said her industry understood the power of adapting to change.
“The Business Beyond Disasters program will help you think differently about how disasters can bring opportunity to you and your business,” Lincoln said.
The Australian and NSW governments funded Business Beyond Disaster through the Disaster Ready Fund.
