Shaping the future in Clunes
LISMORE City Council is creating a master plan to shape the future of Clunes and is inviting the public to have a say.
The Clunes Master Plan project was initiated in response to growing community concerns and feedback gathered during consultations, particularly after the 2022 Growth and Realignment Strategy.
That strategy identified a need for more detailed, place-based planning for Clunes to ensure that future development aligned with the community’s values and needs.
The Council is partnering with urban design experts Ethos Urban, the Living Lab Northern Rivers and Barker Ryan Stewart to create the master plan.
The plan will focus on preserving Clunes’s unique character while addressing issues including infrastructure, housing, traffic and sustainability.
The Council is hosting a drop-in session at the Clunes Village Green from 9am to 11am on Saturday, November 9, where people can ask questions and share ideas.
More sessions will be held in early December, at a venue to be advised.
The draft master plan will be on public exhibition for final feedback from March to April 2025. Residents can also provide feedback on the Council’s Your Say section on its website.
