Uniquely Byron Business Awards return for second year
ENTRIES are now open for the Uniquely Byron Business Awards, which celebrates the businesses, organisations and individuals who make the Byron region special. Submissions will be accepted until Friday, October 17.
This year’s awards feature 17 diverse categories, with winners to be revealed at a festive end-of-year celebration at Japanese restaurant and karaoke venue Tokyo Doll on Wednesday, November 26.
After previously partnering with Business NSW for its annual awards, the Byron Bay Chamber of Commerce made the decision last year to go solo – creating an event that’s 100 per cent homegrown and uniquely Byron in spirit and style.
The award categories reflect the region’s vibrant culture and include Wellness Warriors: Excellence in Health, Care & Wellness; Peace, Love & Mungbeans: Outstanding Community Organisation; and The Pass: Excellence in Surf & Ocean Culture.
Other categories highlight the innovation and creativity across the region, including Bright Ideas: Excellence in Innovation; Standout Start-up: Excellence in New Business; Rise & Shine: Outstanding Cafe and Coffee Experience; Exceptional Eats: Outstanding Dining Experience; After Dark: Outstanding Evening Economy Experience; and Top Tradie: Excellence in Trade, Construction & Manufacturing.
Retail, tourism and sustainability are also in the spotlight with awards including The Golden Tote: Excellence in General Retail & E-commerce; Tourism Titans: Excellence in the Visitor Economy; and Creative Champions: Excellence in Arts & Creativity.
There will also be the hotly anticipated headline award, Byron Business of the Year, which was won by hinterland retreat The Brooklet last year.
As last year’s end-of-year event sold out, the Chamber of Commerce is urging people interested in attending to book early.
