Bishop and Caine predict Addo-Carr’s next destination

CANTERBURY Bankstown Bulldogs’ winger, Josh Addo-Carr is in talks with multiple NRL clubs; Michelle Bishop and Joel Caine gave their predictions for where he could end up.

Despite Addo-Carr’s Bulldogs contract still in effect until 2025, the panel believe there is no chance of seeing him play another game for Canterbury.

“I definitely don’t see him staying at the Dogs,” Bishop said on SEN The Run Home.

The panel discuss complexities of the deal, from a club and player perspective, expressing uncertainty in Addo-Carr’s future, especially given the salary cut he will likely face.

“It might be a bit more complex than we see,” Bishop added.

“He is going to have to take a cut wherever he goes.”

Caine threw out his bold prediction for Addo-Carr to take Gutherson’s expected spot at the Dragons.

“I’m going to say get him out of the city. I’m saying Gutherson will not be at the Dragons, I think the Foxx will be at the Dragons,” Caine said.

Bishop disagreed, placing her bet on Parramatta.

Head coach, Jason Ryles overlapped with Addo-Carr for three years at the Storm which she expects could be crucial in this decision as there is an existing relationship there.

With the Penrith Panthers having a vacant spot on the wing after the deparutre of Sunia Turuva, Addo-Carr’s name was floated as a possible target for the Premiers on a one-year deal.

Bishop and Caine suggest the Panthers strategy is rarely reliant on “hefty wingers” so see this as unlikely, however suggest a one-year stint to bring Addo-Carr back to his best could be beneficial.

Addo-Carr is currently most linked with the Eels and Dragons, although with ideas of Panthers as well as the Rabbitohs and Titans being thrown around, the future of ‘the Foxx’ remains unclear.
