BYRON Bay surfer Kai Ellice-Flint has been awarded a wildcard for the 2025 World Longboard Tour.
The 29-year-old secured second place at the Noosa Longboard Pro in March, putting himself in prime position to earn a spot among the world’s best.
Ellice-Flint will begin his 2025 campaign at the Lexus US Open of Surfing on July 26.
He finished just below the cutline in the 2024 season, placing 11th overall. His best result came at the Huntington Beach Longboard Classic, where he reached the quarterfinals and finished fifth.
He also recorded a ninth-place finish at the Bioglan Bells Beach Longboard Classic and placed 17th in Abu Dhabi after going down to Filipino surfer Rogelio Jr Esquievel.
The stylish natural-footer will be joined on tour by fellow Australians Max Weston and Declan Wyton.
Noosa surfers Kirra Molnar and Emily Lethbridge, along with Sydneysider Tully White, round out the Australian women’s contingent.
