THE Richmond Tweed Regional Library’s trainee library assistant Lauren Tearle has been awarded the 2024 USU New Gen Committee and Active Super Apprentice\/Trainee of the Year Award, recognising her commitment to both her studies and her role at the library.<\/p>\n
Modern libraries are more than places to find books, they are dynamic community hubs where staff play a vital role in connecting people to information, technology, and learning opportunities.<\/p>\n
Tearle, who recently completed a Certificate III in Library and Information Services, was described by her colleagues as a proactive and dedicated team member with strong customer service skills.<\/p>\n
Six colleagues submitted nominations for her, exceeding the usual number required for the award.<\/p>\n
One nominator said Tearle is “an enthusiastic and willing worker, happy to accept any challenge with a positive attitude,” adding that she “is fun to work with, has great customer service skills, and a strong willingness to learn.”<\/p>\n
Another nominator praised her approach in the workplace, saying, “Lauren brings a positive outlook to the workplace. She is a keen, fast learner with excellent people skills and has quickly become a favourite with customers.”<\/p>\n
The award, presented by the United Services Union New Gen Committee in partnership with Active Super, highlights Tearle’s contributions to Richmond Tweed Regional Library and her embodiment of the values promoted by both the union and the library.<\/p>\n
