MUSIC rights management organisation APRA AMCOS is bringing its one-day Regional Sessions workshops to Lismore on Tuesday, February 18.<\/p>\n

One of five NSW regional events, the sessions allow songwriters to connect with their local community, learn from top Australian music creators, and build local and international networks.<\/p>\n

The program is in its fourth year and was introduced in NSW in 2021 to support and reconnect local music creators following the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Supported by the NSW Government through Sound NSW, the one-day events include keynote speakers, workshops, panel discussions, live performances and networking opportunities for beginner, emerging and mid-career songwriters, producers and composers.<\/p>\n

APRA AMCOS creative programs director Chris O’Neill said the team was excited for 2025.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“The sessions give each local music community a unique opportunity to connect with each other and gain valuable skills from top songwriters, composers and producers in their hometown without having to travel to a big city for the experience,” Mr O’Neill said.<\/p>\n

Mentors in Lismore include musician and producer Oscar Dawson of Holy Holy, songwriter, artist and producer KLP, and Ugandan-born, Sydney-based soul artist Agum.<\/p>\n

Hardcore punk frontwoman Jem Slow of Speed will join them, along with soulful hop-hop artist Mr Rhodes and ARIA award-winning musician and podcaster Elana Stone.<\/p>\n

Byron community radio BayFM president and broadcaster Ange Kent, and the national education and outreach manager at APRA AMCOS Caroline McKnight, will moderate the event.<\/p>\n

Tickets include a full day of sessions, including keynote in-conversation, panel discussion and two workshops. The day is catered and will wrap up with networking drinks and live performances from 5.30pm.<\/p>\n

Participants will also receive merchandise including a tote bag, water bottle, notepad, pen, ear plugs and Sharpies.<\/p>\n
