FUTURE stars of the racetrack are gearing up to be part of the Speedway Australia Speed Clinic at Lismore.<\/p>\n

The new junior development program has been rescheduled after a recent run of wet weather at the showground.<\/p>\n

It will now likely be held on Sunday, March 2 with about 22 of the most promising drivers from across the region attending.<\/p>\n

Lismore speedway promoter Kim Sauer said it is a multi-layered<\/p>\n

program that deals with all aspects of racing. “It’s a fantastic program that they have introduced for the kids,” she said.<\/p>\n

“The program deals with mental health and there is a media training element where they teach them<\/p>\n

how to promote their racing channel on social media.<\/p>\n

“There is also advice on nutrition and seminars on safety and how to drive before they head out for an afternoon on the track.”<\/p>\n

The Speedcar Australian Grand Prix was also postponed last weekend due to the expected wet weather.<\/p>\n

Sauer hopes the track will bounce back for the inaugural NSW 360-LS Sprintcar Championship on Saturday, March 1.<\/p>\n

“It will be huge and another first for Lismore with the NSW title up for grabs,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We’re constantly running our most popular shows of the year now and we’re expecting another big crowd.<\/p>\n

“Some of our best local drivers like Jacob Jolley and Ryley Smith are confirmed for that one, too.”<\/p>\n

Production and junior sedan will also be part of a full night of entertainment.<\/p>\n
