The disease is a chronic inflammatory and autoimmune condition affecting the digestive tract and causing the body&#8217;s immune system to attack healthy tissue.<\/p>\n<p>The lifelong challenge sees up to 75 per cent of patients requiring surgery due to complications, with Gallagher having multiple surgeries on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p>His wife Elise and their three children, Levi, Harper, and Avalon are stalwart in their love and support but also bear the burden of the ongoing battle as a family.<\/p>\n<p>The first prize in the fundraising raffle is a handmade custom surfboard\u2014the &#8216;Coolangatta Night Train&#8217;\u2014valued at $1000. Andrew Hurdley, another Tweed Coast Tigers family member, designed, shaped, and donated the board.<\/p>\n<p>The second, third, and fourth prizes are a 10-Session Pass pack at the SALT Movement and Recovery Gym, valued at $318.<\/p>\n<p>All funds raised through the $5 tickets sale will help ease the family&#8217;s strain and support them amid the ongoing health and financial challenges.
