{"id":108776,"date":"2025-03-09T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-08T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/byroncoasttimes\/?p=108776"},"modified":"2025-03-06T00:27:43","modified_gmt":"2025-03-05T13:27:43","slug":"high-octane-action-in-monster-truck-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/byroncoasttimes\/news\/high-octane-action-in-monster-truck-show\/","title":{"rendered":"High octane action in monster truck show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A RETURNING monster truck show is set to bring high-octane action and a unique stunt show performance to the Lismore showground.<\/p>\n<p>It includes a wheel standing Jeep, comedy cars and a fireworks display scheduled for Saturday, March 8.<\/p>\n<p>The show has been described as an extreme monster war on wheels and is run by Monster Truck Promotions Australia on the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n<p>The group has not brought one of its show to the Northern Rivers since 2019 and has developed a strong reputation through its recent run of international events.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re quite excited about coming back to the region,&#8221; team manager Clive Featherby said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The trucks do wheel stands off ramps and a number of things which the crowd will have never seen before.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Featherby runs the Outback Thunda truck which has been rebuilt and taken to Abu Dhabi for shows in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of two recently upgraded trucks on tour with the event focused on family entertainment.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108778\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108778\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-108778\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/03\/38A5298_45020_tn.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/03\/38A5298_45020_tn.jpg 720w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/03\/38A5298_45020_tn-300x173.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108778\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Minis and comedy cars are part of the family friendly show. Photo: PHIL BRADLEY\/LIFE IN FOCUS.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Where we differ from other shows is that we&#8217;re less competition and more of a fast-paced stunt show,&#8221; Featherby said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of the trucks is the only three-seater in Australia and during the night we pick a few kids out of the crowd to do a lap around the showground, too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Organisers were hopeful they would not have to pump the breaks on the event due to the predicated forecast for heavy rain.<\/p>\n<p>Ticket holders will be contacted directly by the team with an update on a potential date change.<\/p>\n<p>The latest event information can be found on the Monster Truck Promotions Australia Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Car racing fans will have another chance to return to showground on Saturday, March 15 with the Lismore speedway season ramping up.<\/p>\n<p>The NSW Modified Sedans Title headlines the program and the support classes consist of V8 dirt modifieds, RSA sedans and junior sedans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A RETURNING monster truck show is set to bring high-octane action and a unique stunt show performance to the Lismore showground.
