BANGALOW Film Festival was postponed in the wake of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred due to safety concerns.<\/p>\n
Event organisers were instructed by Byron Shire Council and emergency services to delay the event, which was scheduled to take place from March 6 to 16.<\/p>\n
Festival founder and director Christian Pazzaglia said he would announce new dates as soon as possible, with all tickets transferable.<\/p>\n
“We are sending love to everyone in the Northern Rivers and look forward to bringing the magic of cinema to Bangalow very soon,” he said.<\/p>\n
The 2025 program was set to feature more than 20 screenings, plus various other events including live performances and a two-day program of industry panels presented in partnership with the Byron Writers Festival and Screenworks.<\/p>\n
Acclaimed director Rolf De Heer, whose credits include The Tracker, Ten Canoes and Charlie’s Country, was among those scheduled to speak at the event.<\/p>\n
His wife Molly Reynolds, who wrote and directed My Name is Gulpilil about Indigenous actor David Gulpilil shortly before his death, was also on the line-up, along with much-loved Australian actor Gary Sweet and Mystery Road star Aaron Pedersen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
