A NEW $2.3 million Service NSW Centre has opened at Tweed Mall, giving locals a larger and more accessible space for government services.<\/p>\n
The purpose-built site replaces the former centre and includes a redesigned layout, extra counters, self-service touch screens, and private rooms for booked one-on-one appointments to help with cost-of-living or other support.<\/p>\n
Premier Chris Minns said the upgrade would make accessing services easier for the community.<\/p>\n
“Service NSW centres are vital for communities, particularly in regional areas like the Northern Rivers,” Minns said.<\/p>\n
The new Tweed Heads facility is part of a broader push to modernise Service NSW sites, with nine centres upgraded across the state last financial year. More than 77,000 people visited the Tweed centre in the past year, and more than 8,000 have already used the new site since it opened last month.<\/p>\n
Customer service and digital government minister Jihad Dib said upgrades like these were aimed at keeping pace with demand across NSW.<\/p>\n
“With more than 6.5 million customer visits across NSW last year, investing in new and improved Service Centres ensures access for those who need the essential services they provide,” she said.<\/p>\n
Small business minister Janelle Saffin said the new space would support both residents and local businesses.<\/p>\n
“The new centre means that Service NSW can better support the ever-growing community and small businesses with a welcoming and inclusive space when completing government transactions.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
