THE Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre has released its draft Strategic Plan 2025\u20132028 for public exhibition.<\/p>\n

Setting out a bold and inclusive vision for the gallery’s next chapter, the plan was shaped through community consultation and input from the cultural sector and key support organisations.<\/p>\n

Months of community engagement, including visitor and online surveys, stakeholder conversations and feedback from the arts sector have helped shape the strategy.<\/p>\n

Gallery director Ingrid Hedgcock said it was clear the community and arts sector wanted a gallery that elevated artist practice, amplified First Nations voices, and created inclusive pathways.<\/p>\n

“They also emphasised the need for stability in a sector facing increasing pressures, and this plan answers that call,” Hedgcock said.<\/p>\n

“It shows that the gallery can be bold, inclusive and resilient by being intentional and focused about what we set out to achieve together, cementing our position as a leading regional gallery that reflects the values and aspirations of our community and arts sector.”<\/p>\n

The plan identifies four strategic goals focused on artistic excellence, learning and engagement, access and participation, and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n

Tweed Shire Council manager of inclusive and creative communities, Shannon Carruth, said it was clear locals were proud of having such a world-class cultural facility in their backyard.<\/p>\n

“We share the community’s pride in our gallery and are excited about the future,” Carruth said.<\/p>\n

“This draft Strategic Plan reflects the gallery’s role as a cultural leader in our region and beyond over the next three years.<\/p>\n

“It’s about much more than exhibitions, it’s about creating a sustainable, inclusive and inspiring space where art connects people, ideas and place.”<\/p>\n
