“At the moment we have one full female junior team, our under-13 girls, and it’s brilliant to see them running out with us before games.<\/p>\n
“With the Matildas being so incredible, it’s a pretty awesome thing for a small town like Murwillumbah.”<\/p>\n
The club fields five senior teams and five competitive junior teams from under-13s through to under-16s.<\/p>\n
A new under-14 Division 3 side has also been introduced this season, made up largely of new players.<\/p>\n
In the development pathway, the club has two under-11 squads competing in the Kangaroo League, along with an under-12 side.<\/p>\n
The MiniRoos program remains strong, with two teams in each age division from under-6s through to under-10s.<\/p>\n
The men compete in Football Queensland Premier League 4 and are working to build greater depth in their senior ranks.<\/p>\n
“Players move away, or can’t commit to Saturdays, and we’ve found it challenging to build depth in our senior men’s ranks,” Lee said.<\/p>\n
“But we’re the only club in this immediate area that goes up to the Gold Coast and plays in that league, so it’s a really good opportunity for new players to join. It’s a strong, competitive environment.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
