TELEVISION presenter Shelley Craft<\/a> will host Destination Byron’s 2026 Symposium<\/a> at the Byron Theatre<\/a> on Thursday 25 June.<\/p>\n

The theme of this year’s symposium, Naturally Byron: Growing a World-Class Visitor Economy, will explore how Byron Bay can shape a sustainable and globally competitive future as a visitor destination.<\/p>\n

The event will feature a strong lineup of speakers, including Rebecca Masci, director of marketing at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee; Reflections Holidays CEO Nick Baker, and STR business development manager Paul Hammond.<\/p>\n

Data and trends commentator Simon Kuestenmacher from The Demographics Group will present the latest demographic, consumer and tourism insights affecting Byron Shire and the Northern Rivers. His presentation will also examine the impact of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games on infrastructure, visitation growth and long-term opportunities for the region.<\/p>\n

The symposium program will also include a panel discussion on luxury travel experiences, insights from regional tourism data, and an overview of the $200,000 Regional Night-Time Economy Grant and Winter 2027 festival.<\/p>\n

Destination Byron president Jeanie Wylie said the symposium provides valuable data and insights, as well as an update on Destination Byron’s promotional activities.<\/p>\n

“Everyone in the Byron Shire is affected by the visitor economy \u2013 whether you’re a resident or a business owner \u2013 and we aim to share data and insights that will enable people to better predict the trends that affect them” she said.<\/p>\n

“The symposium also provides practical tips for businesses on how to benefit from upcoming events including Byron Fest 2027 and the lead-up to the 2032 Olympics.”<\/p>\n
