“The manor sits beside the Tweed River and is filled with Art Deco features, antiques and pieces of Australian history that Cheryl has spent years collecting and preserving,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Every object seems to have a story attached to it.<\/p>\n
“The house offers visitors a glimpse into another era while remaining connected to the region through its architecture and iconic river views.”<\/p>\n
She said that sense of place is echoed throughout the exhibition.<\/p>\n
“Many of the artists have roots in the Tweed and hold personal connections to the river and surrounding landscape,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Artist Kayla Finlayson has even created a photographic series with the river at its heart, capturing a place that has shaped so many lives within our community.<\/p>\n
“By opening weekend, visitors will wander through our artists’ stories of family, place, resilience and joy unfolding throughout the manor.”<\/p>\n
Shilo said artists were selected through personal connection and intuition.<\/p>\n
“The women work across a remarkable range of mediums, bringing different skills, perspectives and life experiences to the exhibition,” she said.<\/p>\n
“What connects them is a shared generosity of spirit and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting one another.”<\/p>\n
Many of the artists also have connections to Wedgetail Retreat, which Shilo said has helped shape the spirit of the exhibition.<\/p>\n
