In Corio Ward for more than 6.5 years, before that in Whittington and Thomson
Community involvement: I have been a councillor since June 2023. I have been part of a volunteer group of residents organising events in Labuan Square, Norlane. I also volunteer with Norlane West Scouts.
Associated with a political party or movement?
I am a member of Socialist Alliance.
Preferencing: According to how the other candidates’ values, political views and priorities align with mine.
Campaign budget? Receiving financial assistance? About $10,000. Have been financially supported by the Geelong branch of Socialist Alliance and the Health and Community Services Union Vic/Tas branch.
Three most important issues in your ward?
Amenities and sense of pride in community: Maintenance of roads, footpaths, local parks, removal of graffiti and dumped rubbish. Services: The primary role of Council is to provide services to the community. Cost of living: Council’s rates and revenue plan for the next four years needs to be revised.
