Art exhibition with a cause returns
All About Art is returning for its third annual exhibition, running from December 6 until December 8.
Roe Clapham started the exhibition three years ago as a platform for artists to open their studios again following COVID and wanted to donate the proceeds to a charity.
She discovered the Peace of Mind Foundation, liking their philosophy and how they care for people.
“I had sold my business and I had the space and the time to run this exhibition, it was sort of a twofold for me to help the artist and to help people in need, I just do it for the love of it,” she said.
“I personally don’t make any money out of it, I just like to do it and the last two years have been very successful and this year, being our third year, I’m hoping will be even more successful.”
Last year’s event raised more than $16,000 for the foundation, helping them in supporting those diagnosed with brain cancer.
The exhibition will feature the works of local artists in a range of mediums from ceramists and illustrators through to glass artists and knitters and everything in between.
“The artwork’s even better than the last two years, it’s insane, I’ve seen the majority of what’s coming here and I’m just blown away by how talented the people on the coast are,” Ms Clapham said.
“I’m looking forward to selling all their work and I’m looking forward to having lots of the community come and support the whole event.”
On Saturday, December 7 the event will include a ticketed cocktail party where 100 per cent of all ticket proceeds are donated.
All tickets will include a welcome drink, food, music and the chance to win an art piece with the live auction taking place.
