Ash Grunwald brings his national tour to Geelong
Australian blues musician Ash Grunwald released his new single Life Without You earlier this year to coincide with his current national tour.
Life Without You was released on February 2 and co-written with producer Garrett Kato, a platinum award winning producer who reached over a billion streams with Tones and I.
“I knew he was a great artist and great producer, but neither of us knew if it would work or not,” Grunwald said.
“The irony of the situation is that we came up with something that is a very me kind of track.”
He said the new single is about being away on tour and missing his wife, with the pair being in love for 20 years.
“This song is about that moment, the sweet melancholy of having someone to miss and realising just how much they mean to you.”
In 2002 he released his debut studio album Introducing Ash Grunwald.
Grunwald has been nominated for a number of awards during his career, including his second album in 2004, I Don’t Believe” was nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album.
He has worked alongside a number of well-known musicians throughout his career including Keith Urban, James Brown, Jack Johnson and more.
In 2019 Grunwald released a book titled ‘Surf by Day, Jam by Night’, exploring the connection between surfing and music.
Grunwald will take the stage at Geelong’s Lamby’s Tavern on April 21 as part of the dates added to the tour in an early Sunday afternoon performance from 3:30pm.
