Callout for Bendigo Art Show entries
THE Bendigo Easter Art Show is calling out for budding and experienced artists to submit their work for this year’s exhibition.
The community arts show and sales will be held at Bendigo Town Hall across the Easter long weekend and sees one in three attendees walk out the door having made a purchase.
The annual show is the Rotary Club of Bendigo’s largest fundraiser of the year and program chair Graeme Clarke said he is hoping to get nearly a thousand pieces on display for this year’s show.
“If we can get 900 pieces, we are nearly full,” he said. “Everything that goes on exhibit goes on sale.
“We then take a commission of every painting sold and that goes towards the works we do both locally and internationally.”
Mr Clarke said the show is open for all artists and calls for anyone who meets the criteria to get involved.
“Any artist who wants to enter has the ability to enter,” he said.
“It has to be hand created art, some people have put in pieces where there is collage, but they may have put in a press clipping and then painted around it.
“But the majority of the mediums are pencil, crayon, water colour, oil colour, acrylic and those types under the criteria from which they are allowed to enter.”
Entering the art show this year is easier than ever, Mr Clarke said.
“If they click on our website, it will take them straight to our entry point,” he said. “Then they punch in all their details and data of their paintings.”
