Cuts to our gas bills come via more sustainable energy

In June 2022, one-quarter of households ranked their energy bill as their top 3 most stressful expenses. Only groceries, rent or mortgage and petrol were higher on the stressor list than energy.

With only 60% of Australians believing they are getting good value for money from their energy and gas providers, there’s room for improvement.

Fluctuations in gas bills are dependent on the season, how many people are in the household and how many appliances use gas (i.e. heaters and stoves).

Trying to find solutions can take time and effort. Yet, Australians can also turn to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to make cuts to their gas bills.

Australia’s largest and most trusted LPG supplier is Elgas. They’re committed to providing reliable access to energy for everyone wherever they are in the country.

The hassle’s taken out of your gas with Elgas, which keeps your heating and energy supply low maintenance. No lock-in contracts make it easy for those hesitant about making the switch.

LPG The Budget-Friendly Alternative

At first glance, the advantages of LPG against natural gas may not be obvious. Often, when looking at just the price of gas itself, natural is cheaper. But that’s not where the bill ends.

Natural gas suppliers charge an extra daily fee for connection to the mains gas network. Those daily charges of around $1.22 per day can add up to as high as $400 per year. That’s even before any gas has been used.

Comparing the two, generally, LPG can be under $200 per year, while natural gas prices can average more than $600 a year. Depending on your area, there can also be extra tariffs on natural gas that hike up the price even further.

Why Is LPG Cleaner?

For regional communities, there are big positives to LPG use.

Currently, roughly 400,000 households and businesses in rural Australia are not connected to the electricity grid. LPG is a cleaner, more budget-friendly alternative to diesel.

It produces 45% less CO2 and 99% less NOx than diesel, making it the ideal option for sustainable, off-grid living.

LPG For Cooking

The most efficient cooking comes courtesy of LPG. A favourite of professional chefs but also home cooks. Why? LPG delivers heat quickly and evenly circulates the flame around the entire pan.

Temperature control is also instant. Love to cook a stir-fry for the family? An LPG gas wok burner makes it easy.

LPG Gas Heating

Keep your home cozy and warm all winter long with LPG. It has double the energy content than the same amount of natural gas, giving you maximum energy efficiency.

Due to its power, LPG can quickly heat up large spaces, so it’s also perfect for big houses. For those looking for more versatile or temporary heating options, consider portable LPG heaters, LPG fireplaces or convector heaters.

Elgas has the largest LPG storage facility in the southern hemisphere. Give yourself peace of mind with their reliable gas supply.
