Following a big set at Meredith Music Festival and an Australian Music Prize Shortlist nomination for second album Painting of my Time, Melbourne five-piece Floodlights will headline two shows in February, including in Torquay.

Floodlights are also playing A Festival Called Panama alongside King Stingray, The Beths, Kaiit, Jen Cloher and more in lutruwita this March.

Formed in Melbourne in 2018, Floodlights – Louis Parsons (vocals, guitar, grand piano), Ashlee Kehoe (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Joe Draffen (bass), Archie Shannon (drums, percussion) and Sarah Hellyer (vocals, trumpet, piano) – have built a loyal following based on powerful lyrics, impressive musicianship, and their compelling stage presence.

The band has had a massive 2023, chalking up more than 50 live shows and a slew of festival dates around the world.

With headline tours across so-called-Australia, the UK and Europe plastered with more than a few sold out signs (including two Corner Hotels in Naarm/Melbourne), and support slots with Pavement, The Killers and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, their lauded live performance has taken them to stages at Green Man Festival, End of the Road Festival, Tent Pole Music Festival, Harvest Rock Festival, Falls Festival, SXSW Austin, and a highly-talked-about Reeperbahn performance, with the crowd reflecting Rolling Stone’s “quick to become a buzzed-about band” review.

Their highly-anticipated Meredith Music Festival debut saw them honoured with audience favourite award The Boot.

Floodlights will play at the Torquay Hotel on February 3 from 8.30pm.
