The business's approach to monitoring and managing your dog is supported by the latest research in dog behaviour, with all interactions with your dog undertaken with the utmost respect, care and compassion.

FURRY Beach Bums Doggy Day Care is your place for pawfect dog day care and pet sitting on the Surf Coast.

The business makes sure all pooches are assessed beforehand, so you can rest assured knowing your pet is in a safe and caring environment.

Parts of the assessment is to make sure all dogs are fully vaccinated, fleaed, wormed, and microchipped.

Furry Beach Bums director Olsen Kaynak also runs the gym next door.

“It gave us a good understanding of our clients, and we came to realise Torquay’s a really densely dog-populated area,” he said.

“We understood the locals and the clients well, so we thought we could relieve a little bit of stress with all the dogs and offer the community an extra service.”

Mr Kaynak said the business offered one-hour stays, four-hour stays, and eight-hour stays.

The humans at Furry Beach Bums are fully qualified to make sure your dog is in the best hands possible. The business cares for your four-legged family members as if they were one of their own.

“I like to make the dogs’ days really enjoyable; it’s all about interacting with them,” vet nurse Lily Smith said.

“They’re here for the day while their owners are at work, so we’re trying to enrich them and make them happy.”

Furry Beach Bums has a variety of spaces where dogs can socialise together as well as be alone.

“A lot of dogs get really wound up, so it’s nice to have a bit of downtime for them, and having the different zones actually allow them to have their own individual time as well,” Ms Smith said.

“During the day, they get a little break, and they have an opportunity to take a nap.

“We give them a bit of food, a bit of enrichment, and that gives them their independence as well; so they are not constantly around other dogs, that’s not really their natural environment.”

She said dogs without strong social skills often improved considerably at Furry Beach Bums.

“We might have dogs who are terrified of coming in when they first come to the day care, and then after a few sessions, they’re literally running through the door; they’re so excited to be here.

“Owners are also noticing their animal gets home and they’re exhausted, but in a good way; they’ve had a great time.”
