International music at The Sound Doctor
THE music industry is thriving on the Surf Coast with international talent taking the stage at The Sound Doctor in June.
United States band Bonny Doon are set to perform in Anglesea as part of their Aussie Tour on June 14.
Bonny Doon released their debut album in 2017 followed shortly after by Longwave in 2018.
Their latest album Let There Be Music was released in June last year and features 10 new tracks.
Originally a Detroit band, they are now spread between Michigan and New York, the trio is made up of Bill Lennox and Bobby Colombo on guitar and vocals and Jake Kmiecik on the drums.
Lennox and Colombo compose each song together and plan writing retreats as they work on new music.
Bonny Doon and have a unique style of alternative folk, alt-country, indi pop and pastoral psychedelia which their music fans love.
They were the backing band for Waxahatchee where they played on her Saint Cloud tour and collaborated on the album.
In 2023 the band went on their first European Tour performing sold out shows in London.
Their upcoming tour will see them perform six shows in Australia, including at Season Fruit Fest in Brisbane, before heading off to performances in the United Kingdom.
Australian Andy Golledge will also take the stage the same weekend, performing on June 15.
