Jebediah are back with a new album
Perth band Jebediah have just released their sixth studio album, OIKS.
The launch of the album will kick off a massive year for the group as they head off on a national album tour in July.
The new album is the band’s first in over a decade and brings them into a new era.
OIKS shows the bands creativity as they present songs with varying styles while staying true to their indie and alternative rock roots.
The quartet is made up of Kevin Mitchell, Chris Daymond, Vanessa Thornton and Brett Mitchell, releasing their debut album Slightly Odway in 1997.
Since then, they have played at a range of venues, from pubs to festivals, and finished last year with a headliner tour.
2023 saw them play in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as part of the Good Things Festival with Fallout Boy and Limp Bizkit.
Last year they were inducted into the WAM Hall of Fame as part of the WA Music Awards and have also been successful in gaining a number of ARIA nominations.
As the band heads around the country they will be supported by Magic Dirt, with Jebediah saying this tour will be one for the ages.
“We are positively giddy to be heading out on the road to celebrate OIKS with our dear friends Magic Dirt, who we last toured the nation with 24 years ago,” the band said.
Along with their national tour they will also play a show in New York City in June
Jebediah will perform at the Torquay Hotel on August 2.
