Australia can’t get enough of homegrown comedy superstar Jim Jefferies, who brings his latest arena show, the Give ‘Em What They Want tour, down under this August.

With six shows already sold out, Frontier Touring and More Talent have announcing three new performances in Geelong, Newcastle and Canberra have been added to the coming tour.

Jefferies’ Melbourne performance at Margaret Court Arena sold out instantly on release, but Victorian fans can catch the comedian legend at Geelong’s Costa Hall on August 8.

The stand-up comedian, political commentator, actor, and writer has been making audiences roar with laughter for 20 years.

Jefferies’ talent has been apparent since his teenage years when he was scouted and signed by a talent agent while performing in a high school musical. He was awarded an operatic scholarship at the Sydney Opera House, followed quickly by winning a second scholarship to Australia’s most esteemed arts academy, the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). He continued to study musical theatre, ballet and classical music until throat nodules forced him to prematurely retire several months before completing his degree.

While at WAAPA, Jefferies began doing stand-up comedy in Perth’s open mic rooms. In the late 1990s he returned to Sydney, where he took various jobs and resumed his focus on comedy.

In the early 2000s, buoyed by his now-flourishing comedy career, Jefferies relocated to the UK where he swiftly built a name for himself on the English comedy circuit, including a now-viral moment in 2007 when he was punched by a stage-invading heckler.

Jefferies’ output so far includes eight comedy specials, the sitcom Legit (which he wrote, directed and played the lead role in), late-night show The Jim Jefferies Show, and a turn as the host of the Australian version of The 1% Club.
